WINTER TRAINING DEADLINE
JANUARY 8, 2010 5PM
University Legal Services’ DC
Jail Advocacy Project is collaborating with NAMI DC’s
B.R.I.D.G.E.S program to launch a mentorship program
that will match incarcerated men and women who have
mental illness with mentors in the community. We are
looking for mentors who are well-established in the
community and want to share their own success in mental
health recovery with a mentee who is transitioning out
of jail. All mentors must be able to participate in
a 3 day mandatory training and commit to volunteering
their time advising and guiding one mentee for at least
one year. Mentors will be paid stipends and all travel
expenses for their work facilitating support groups
inside the DC Jail.
